  • After music executive Steve Stoute took out a full-page advertisement in The New York Times, in which he slammed the Academy for giving Arcade Fire's Suburbs Album of Year, the band's manager Scott Rodger responded to those claims, which cast suspicion on the group's show-closing performance after their "surprise" win, suggesting the Awards was rigged. "Arcade Fire had the final slot on the Grammys as the ratings are low at the end of the broadcast," Rodger wrote. "It really is that simple. We were one of the least known acts on the bill for a network audience. Don't you think I wanted a better slot for the band?" [Lefsetz Letter]

  • U2 will headline this year's Glastonbury Festival in England. The band had to abruptly cancel their 2010 Glastonbury performance after Bono underwent emergency back surgery. "We're so excited to play in front of the world's greatest festival audience," the Edge said in a statement. [U2's Official Site]
