Watch Arcade Fire Lovingly Cover Stevie Wonder’s ‘Uptight’

Arcade Fire Stevie Wonder Cover Live 'Uptight' Video

In case you missed it, Arcade Fire are on the road, cutting a funk-fueled swath through the heart of America. Thus far, the Canadian orch-pop crew have been paying tribute to the states they visit by covering a song from a famous denizen thereof. Earlier this week, we heard them take on Prince’s “Controversy” while playing Minneapolis, of course. And now footage has emerged of the Reflektor band performing Stevie Wonder’s “Uptight (Everything’s Alright)” in Auburn Hills, Michigan (the legendary soul man was born in Saginaw). The visual quality is grainy but the audio is worthy. Moreover, Arcade Fire’s rendition is pretty damn fantastic. A snippet of “Here Comes the Night Time” follows.

Not entirely off-topic, SPIN recently spoke to member Owen Pallet about scoring sex music for a phone (via Her). Pittsburgh is the next stop, so we can only assume a Christina Aguilera cover is in order.
