Watch Arcade Fire Unleash INXS’ ‘Devil Inside’

arcade fire, inxs, devil inside

Arcade Fire are currently touring Australia, spreading their disco-indebted doom and gloom for this year’s Big Day Out Festival. But, as Stereogum points out, the band sometimes known as the Reflektors played a non-festival gig on January 22 at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, and took the opportunity to honor some of the Aussies’ favorite sons: INXS. Before the indie-rock titans closed their set with Reflektor lullaby “Here Comes the Night Time,” they played a slightly muscled-up version of INXS’ sultry “Devil Inside,” from 1988’s Kick. The tribute couldn’t have come at more appropriate time — January 22, 2014 would have been the late Michael Hutchence’s 54th birthday.

Watch the performance via the fan-shot footage above. In case you missed AF’s cover of Devo’s “Uncontrollable Urge” a few months back, that’s Win Butler in the bobblehead mask.
