The First Four Episodes of ‘True Trans With Laura Jane Grace’ Are Here

AOL, True Trans, Laura Jane Grace, Against Me

The first four episodes of True Trans, the new reality show about Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, were finally released earlier today. The AOL series tracks the life and career of the punk singer, who came out as a transgender woman in 2012. The premiere, embedded above, tells the story of Grace’s childhood in Florida and the rise of her band. The series, which premiered the day before National Coming Out Day, will go on to tell the stories of “other members of the trans community whose experiences are woefully underrepresented and misunderstood in the media,” according to AOL. The next three episodes, which are also available now on the AOL website and run about eight minutes long each, touch upon defining gender dysphoria, Grace’s attempted suicide, and finding her place in the trans community.

In January Against Me! released the aptly named Transgender Dysphoria Blues, which SPIN called one of the best albums of the first half of 2014.
