Last month, Angel Olsen announced the upcoming arrival of her next album with "Forgiven/Forgotten," a bracing, fuzzed-over track that abandons the folky arrangements heard on last year's Half Way Home. Now, the singer-songwriter has shared an official music video for the lead single. Directed by regular collaborator Zia Anger (who also helmed Olsen's videos for "Sweet Dreams" and "Tiniest Seeds"), the new clip was shot in 16mm and partially inspired by the beloved but short-lived TV series Freaks and Geeks.

"I traveled to Asheville with a couple rolls of 16mm film and a Bolex camera," Anger said in an official statement. "The only idea Angel and I had decided on was that she should be given a chance to act — to perform in a way most people have never seen her perform. Upon arriving I was immediately struck by the beautiful and unruly area of Malvern Hills. Suburbia had never spoken to me like that before. Our idea morphed into a suburban fantasy just as lawless as its backdrop. It is complete with a Freaks and Geeks-inspired lovers quarrel that ends with the male character physically being hand-scratched out of the film."

Watch the autumnal clip above, find Olsen's tour dates below, and keep an eye out for the Burn Your Fire for No Witness LP, out February 18 on Jagjaguwar.
