See Angel Haze Spit Fire Over Fiddle in ‘No Bueno’ Live Video

Angel Haze 'No Bueno' Live Video Dirty Gold

Angel Haze performed brand new song “No Bueno” at London Club Scala on May 7 and though recordings of the performance have been circulating, the New York rapper has now released an official live clip. The song is the first taste we’ve gotten of her forthcoming debut album for Universal Republic, Dirty Gold, and it’s fierce on all fronts. Haze is lyrically fired up, delivering classic rap braggadocio whilst big-upping dolo and dollars. Meanwhile she’s backed by a clearly able band who deliver hard-hitting bass and drums, huge swells of synth, and tension-ratcheting strings.

This comes from the same set that gave us Haze’s version of Watch the Throne track “Otis” with Iggy Azalea — before that, all we had to tide us over was her MC’s tasty update of Purity Ring’s “Lofticries” and that musty old Azelia Banks beef. In a recent interview with FADER, Haze said she’s been working with Coldplay and Arcade Fire, as well as producers Mike Dean,  Emile Haynie, and Mark Ronson. She also said she recorded part of the record in Spain “in a house on top of a mountain and civilization was an hour away from us and I got a little cabin fever.” Decidedly not basic.
