On Angel Haze's July stunner of an EP, Reservation, the rising New York rapper spits scathing, heart-braising fire over production that makes her moniker's surname a more literal descriptor. It's no surprise then that she would sound incredible over something from the xx's camp. Here, Reservation producer 83rd combines Haze's "New York" with Jamie XX's remix of "New York is Killing Me" by Gil Scott-Heron. The results are decidedly narcotic, dubbed out into an inescapably dark but strangely bubbling groove. Dig in.
