Alice in Chains’ Sludgy ‘Stone’ Surfaces Online

Alice in Chains, 'The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here'

A new track from Alice in Chains’ upcoming album has hit radio, which means it’s also popped up online. The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which the grunge lifers have said will be unsurprising but unique, is due out on May 14. According to Blabbermouth, the band released the album’s “Stone” to radio yesterday. Shins fans can go back to wincing the night away: The song actually is unsurprising yet relatively unusual for 2013, with plenty of lurching riffage, flashy shredding, and bleak moaning in common with the album’s previously unveiled “Hollow.” If you like your ’90s nostalgia more King Animal than “Afraid of Heights,” you’re in a safe place, though there’s not as much devil as dinosaur here.
