ALBUM PREMIERE: Wild Miami Rockers Jacuzzi Boys

With their raucous garage rock sound, Miami’s up-and-coming Jacuzzi Boys impressed Jack White, who invited them to record a live show at his Third Man HQ in Nashville. (You can get the vinyl 12″ here.) The band’s upcoming LP, Glazin (out August 30), continues the raw and rockin’ good times. SPIN’s seven-out-of-10 review raves: “If these goofy garage punks ever come to your town, be there with beer money…Jacuzzi Boys have taken their place among the best sloppy racket-makers bashing out easy-boogie soundtracks to your next drunken night at the local rock dive.”

You can stream the entire album here, a week prior to its release.

Singer-guitarist Gabriel Alcala tells SPIN that Glazin has two main lyrical themes: “Girls and sweets. Almost every song is about a girl, and desserts are frequently used to describe them!” Prime example: “Sugar in my hair / Melting everywhere in the sunshine,” Alcala sings on the title track. “You could be the one to make me feel alright / I’m glazin’ for you.”

Of the LP’s 10 songs, Alcala’s fave is the closer, “Koo Koo With You.” “It has a real ‘Sweet Virginia’ vibe to it,” he says, referencing the Rolling Stones’ classic. “My favorite part of ‘Koo Koo With You’ is the saxophone-esque guitar solo!We wrote it while we were messing around at a studio here in Miami. The song is about all the sweet people we meet on tour and all the fun adventures we have with them.”

Jacuzzi Boys’ goal with Glazin: “[We] hope people get butterflies, goose bumps, shivers, and one big smile!” Mission accomplished.
