  • Adele earned the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts for the second week in a row with her second album, 21. The British singer moved 168,000 copies of the LP, following last week's sales of 352,000 units. 21 is the biggest selling new record of the year, according to her label Columbia.

  • Dirty Projectors, St. Vincent, Dan Deacon, Titus Andronicus and others will cover the music of Black Flag, Sonic Youth, the Replacements, Dinosaur Jr., and others at a concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of Michael Azzerad's book Our Band Could Be Your Life, which chronicled the rise of American alternative rock in the '80s and '90s. The show takes place May 22 at New York's Bowery Ballroom. [Pitchfork]

  • Pete Wentz is seeking joint custody of his child, Bronx, with Ashlee Simpson in the couple's divorce proceedings. Simpson filed papers to dissolve their marriage last month in Los Angeles. She asked for solo custody. [TMZ]

  • Phil Collins is setting the record straight himself after news surfaced that he was quitting music, which caused his rep to deny those reports earlier this week. • Producers of U2's Spider-Man musical are planning to shut down production of preview performances in order to significantly overhaul the show. The official March 15 opening will also likely be pushed back roughly three months. [The New York Times]
