Adele Defeats Eminem, Gallagher's LP Update + More

  • Adele's record-breaking streak continues. The British soul singer's latest album 21 has become the biggest selling digital set in U.S. history, with more than 1 million copies sold in four months time. Adele has dethroned Eminem, who achieved the record only one week ago with sales of Recovery. As SPIN previously reported, 21 is also the year's highest selling physical album of the year.   • Noel Gallagher has announced his debut solo album will be released on November 8 via his imprint Sour Mash records, according to a press release. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is co-produced by the ex-Oasis guitarist and David Sardy, who helmed 2008's Dig Out Your Soul.

  • Dave Grohl got aggro on a fan at a recent Foo Fighters show, telling the attendee to "get the fuck out" for being too violent. "You don't come to my show to fight!" he shouts. "You come to my show to dance...I don't put up with that bullshit!" TMZ has the incredible footage.

  • Mastodon have released a trailer for their forthcoming album The Hunter, which features a one-minute snippet of a new track titled "Black Tongue." Watch below.

  • Cults have dropped an awesome video for "Go Outside," which expertly juxtaposes their gorgeous anthem with old news footage documenting Jim Jones' notorious 1960s cult, the Peoples' Temple. Watch below and check out the group's fantastic, seven-song SPIN rooftop concert here.

  • Martin Scorsese's revealing documentary on the late George Harrison will get a DVD release in October; the two-part movie will also air on HBO this fall. Co-produced by the Beatles' guitarist's wife Olivia Harrison, Scorsese's portrait features never-before-seen home movies and interviews with surviving members of the the band. [NME]

  • Hit So Hard, a documentary on Hole drummer Patty Schemel, will get a wide theatrical release early next year. The movie traces her rise with the band and examines her tumultuous relationship with Courtney Love. The group reunited back in March for the first time in 13 years at the movie's New York premiere.   • Blonde Redhead have tapped Games, Pantha Du Prince, Salem, Gayngs, and more to remix tracks from their 2010 album Penny Sparkle. Stream the six-track set below (via Fader).
