1990s Distribute 'Cookies'

Scottish indie rock trio ready U.S. debut for July.

The 1990s' retro-charged debut Cookies will hit American shores July 31 via Rough Trade, Pitchfork reports. Cookies, recorded by former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, will follow the release of the "See You at the Lights" single, which will be available as a U.K. import April 16. The 1990s -- Jackie McKeown (guitar/vocals), Jamie McMorrow (bassist), and Michael McGaughrin (drums) -- formed following the 1999 split of the Yummy Fur, an art rock band posing McKeown and McMorrow alongside Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos and Paul Thomson.

SPIN.com caught their set last night at an all-Scottish showcase at NYC's Bowery Ballroom (read more).
