1) Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Push the Sky Away. “Push The Sky Away is a world away from Grinderman’s brutal sound. Instead it finds the Bad Seeds in stately mode, and contains some of their most beautiful melodies to date.” (via the Guardian)
2) Cyclopean, Cyclopean EP. “Cyclopean [is] the debut collaborative EP from Can founder members Jaki Liebezeit and Irmin Schmidt, along with producer/musician Burnt Friedman and Jono Podmore (who plays in Metamono and was involved in curating Can’s recent Lost Tapes collection)… features four tracks, in a dark, percussive and sub-bassy vein.” (via the Quietus)
3) Pissed Jeans, Honeys. “In practice, [‘adult angst’] might mean bitter but grown-ass lyrical themes — chucked against the cubicle wall in song titles like ‘Chain Worker,’ ‘Male Gaze,’ and, yup, ‘Health Plan’ — but musically it’s at least as sludgy and rambunctious as when [frontman Matt] Korvette used to howl about his love for ice cream.” (via SPIN)

4) Ulrich Schnauss, A Long Way to Fall. “The starry-eyed pop melodies are more subdued; the feathery guitars have blown out into a diffuse harmonic spray. 8) Kool A.D., 63 and 19 mixtapes. “[Former Das Racist rapper Kool A.D.] has two new mixtapes… Lakutis, Busdriver, Meyhem Lauren, DaVinci, Spank Rock, Issue, Maffew Ragazino, and a ton of other guys make guest appearances, and Kool A.D. even brings out an old, unused Ad-Rock beat that the former Beastie Boy sent to Das Racist a few years ago.” (via Stereogum)
