Father John Misty honored his sister in extreme L.A.-ness Lana Del Rey at last night’s ASCAP Pop Music Awards, presenting her with the Global Impact Award and covering her 2012 song “Ride.” Misty has spoken highly of Lana before, and in 2016 he appeared in her video for “Freak.”

“It strikes me as vaguely ironic to give a songwriting award to someone who just seems to effortlessly radiate songs, but I know how hard you work at what you do, and I think everybody else does,” he said at the ceremony. “You can take all the crack songwriters and put them in a bunker for a thousand years and they would not come up with ‘I Fucked My Way to the Top,’ ever.” Watch the cover and presentation below.
