Among today’s highly anticipated releases—Lorde, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Fleet Foxes, Ride, Big Boi—is the soundtrack to Disney/Pixar threequel Cars 3 and its cheerily retro Dan Auerbach joint “Run That Race.” It’s an easy stylistic match with the Black Keys member’s recent album, Waiting on a Song, released earlier this month.
The Cars 3 soundtrack also features James Bay, Andra Day, a Brad Paisley song called “Truckaroo,” and ZZ Ward with Gary Clark Jr., so as kids’ movie soundtracks go, you could do a lot worse. Listen to “Run That Race” below.
