Following 2014’s Bestial Burden and a stunning contribution to Adult Swim’s NOISE compilation at the tail-end of last year, Pharmakon’s Margaret Chardiet has announced a third studio album titled Contact. Scheduled for release on March 31 from Sacred Bones, the album continues her exploration of the visceral inconsistencies of the human form.
“We are each nothing but a single, short-lived cell in a vast organism which itself will one day die,” she said in a press release. “If we accept that the only true claim sentience gives us is our tiny sliver of time, it opens us to revel in it, to make CONTACT.”
The album wades through four themes: preparation, onset, climax, and resolution. On lead single “Transmission,” listeners get a glimpse of the thunderous, face-numbing power of Pharmakon at her best. Hear “Transmission” below. [FACT]
