Watch Dave Chappelle and John Mayer Cover Nirvana and Tom Petty

John Mayer’s latest single “Love on the Weekend” may be bad, but the guitarist himself is still cool enough to jam with Dave Chappelle (the two did link up for the black barbershop sketch on Chappelle’s Show). The comedian dropped by Mayer’s secret acoustic set at Los Angeles’s Hotel Cafe, and the two performed a cover jam session with the audience’s support. Watch them perform Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” and Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin'” below.

Both collaborators will be busy men this year. Mayer is working on his new album The Search For Everything, and Chappelle has his upcoming stand-up specials for Netflix.

Y’all they did free falling together too 😭 #JohnMayer overload today because last night was a dream 🌙
