Video: KING – “In the Meantime”

Los Angeles R&B trio KING released their debut album back in February, which was quietly one of the strongest and most unusual releases in that genre this year. They’ve just released a video in time for some year-end accolades to hopefully roll out in their favor. The video for the smooth track “In the Meantime” leans into the psychedelic implications of KING’s music: Animated line-drawn images of relationships and a panoply of morose characters staring off into the distance morph and decompose fluidly through the video, but there are also weird skulls and other abstraction in between.

Enjoy the clip, animated by French artist David Devaux, below (via Pitchfork).
