The Roots are scheduled to tip off the 66th NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans on February 19. They are the second confirmed performers of the night, which will be broadcast live on TNT, along with John Legend, who will be performing the halftime show. A NBA press release explains that the Roots’ performance will be a “dynamic journey celebrating the evolution and history of the game of basketball”—whatever that means, exactly.
