Q-Tip Teases That A Tribe Called Quest Might Not Be Finished After All

Q-Tip announced in a Facebook post that We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service was going to be A Tribe Called Quest’s final album. He might be backpedaling a bit if his recent interview with BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac is any indicator.

Tip told the host that he plans on continuing on with Tribe because that’s what the late Phife Dawg would’ve wanted. “Stay tuned for any other incarnation because we don’t intend on stopping,” he said. “That was Phife’s M.O.: ‘This time we gotta do it and keep going.’ And now he’s left us with the equation of how do we do it, but we’re going to need it, and we’re going to continue.” Listen to the comments below.

A Tribe Called Quest’s return run has included Busta Rhymes and Consequence, two frequent collaborators who’re featured prominently on We Got It from Here. Q-Tip didn’t elaborate on what this “incarnation” would include, but it’s a safe bet that those two are going to be involved. It’s also worth noting that Q-Tip also recently told Billboard that Tribe was “probably” going on a world tour.
