Video: Kate Bush – “And Dream of Sheep (Live)”

To promote her upcoming triple live album Before the Dawn, Kate Bush has released a video for the record’s first single, “And Dream of Sheep,” a song originally from her 1985 classic, Hounds of Love.

Bush apparently went method while filming the video, which shows her floating in a pool of dark water, with a life jacket and flashing locating beacon on, waiting for rescue; her publicist said in a statement that the singer “spent so long in the water during the first day of filming that she contracted mild hypothermia.”

“She recovered after a day off and carried on filming,” the statement added. “Everyone agreed it had added to the authenticity of the performance.”

Bush also recorded vocals for the track while floating in a water tank at Buckinghamshire, England’s Pinewood Studios, according to Rolling Stone.

The video was first screened during Bush’s 2014 residency at London’s Hammersmith Apollo theater. Watch it below, and then listen to her first interview in five years here.

Before the Dawn is out December 2 in the U.S. and November 25 in the U.K.
