Watch Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Maya Rudolph Perform Live as Test Pattern, Their Talking Heads Parody Band

Test Pattern, the Talking Heads parody band featuring Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Maya Rudolph, is a clever and committed schtick. They’ve already got a late night performance, a full-length debut album, and a highbrow “documentary” concert film. Last night they scored their first headlining festival gig, performing at Tenacious D’s music and comedy Festival Supreme in Los Angeles alongside Flight of the Conchords, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and Mac DeMarco.

Armisen is the gawky frontman; Hader brings the intentionally pretentious stage banter; Rudolph has made a close study of the real Tina Weymouth’s shimmy-jog dance moves. Watch a few fan-shot clips below.
