Watch Beach Slang’s Destructive New Video for “Atom Bomb”

Like the vicious tick of an atom bomb about to explode, so goes the fervor of a destructive relationship — at least that’s the conceit behind Beach Slang’s music video for their latest single, “Atom Bomb.” In the just-released clip, the Philly punks give insight to the harmful, chaotic reality of relationships that fall into a cycle of emotional and physical abuse. Soundtracked by frontman James Alex’s insistent singing (“I’m an atom bomb tick, tick, ticking”) the young couple at the video’s center is bound to leave a mushroom cloud of their own, too.

“Atom Bomb,” as well as Beach Slang’s other recent single, “Punks in a Disco Bar,” comes from the band’s upcoming sophomore album, A Loud Bash of Teenage Feelings, out September 23 on Polyvinyl Records. Ease the wait by watching the “Atom Bomb” video below.
