The xx Announce First Shows After Three-Year Hiatus

The lineups for Lollapalooza South America were released today, and while headliners like Metallica, The Weeknd, and the Strokes seem relatively predictable, the appearance of the xx will mark the groups return to the stage after a three year-long hiatus. The entire band hasn’t played together live since touring for 2012’s Coexist and their 2014 New York Guggenheim Museum show.

The band will play alongside the Chainsmokers, Flume, Duran Duran, Cage the Elephant, Melanie Martinez, Tegan and Sara, some “special guests” that are yet to be revealed. Lollapalooza South America will have shows in Brazil from March 25-26 and Argentina from March 31 – April 1, before culminating in Chile from April 1-2. (Full lineups for Lollapalooza’s South America dates can be found here.)

Whether the xx is playing at the festival as part of a larger tour is not clear.
