As it turns out, both of this week’s Dirty Projectors video teasers were lead-ups to the same new song: “Keep Your Name,” a melancholy, multi-part exploration of the empty space in a failing relationship. The elegant, black and white video incorporates close-up angles of frontman David Longstreth, plus original drawings and a cameo appearance by the smiley poo emoji.
“Keep Your Name” is now available via Spotify and iTunes/Apple Music. No album has yet been announced. If and when it is, it will be Dirty Projectors’ first since 2012’s Swing Lo Magellan. Watch the video for “Keep Your Name” below.
