The Police’s Charges Against Desiigner Are Already Falling Apart

This past Thursday, Desiigner was hit with gun and illegal drug charges following a road rage incident. On Saturday, police dropped the felony gun charge after they failed to find the gun Desiigner allegedly pointed at another driver. Today, TMZ reports that the loose pills found in Desiigner’s SUV were steroids that belonged to the driver—not the methamphetamines and controlled substances he was originally accused of possessing.

The District Attorney has already dropped the felony charge for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell—an already shoddy charge since police were responding to an alleged gun threat, not a drug exchange sighting. However, according to a criminal court complaint obtained by SPIN, Desiigner is still being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, even though the drugs weren’t found on his body. He’s also being charged with menacing in the second and third degree.

Desiigner was released without bail on Saturday and remained positive despite the legal trouble. “[They] said we gotta sell pills? We ain’t gotta do that shit no more, baby” Desiigner said in an Instagram video on the day of his release. “Geh, geh, geh, geh, aye.”
