Common Grabs Stevie Wonder, Esperanza Spalding, and Chuck D for “Black America Again”

Common has never been shy about going political with his lyrics, and today has released “Black America Again,” a new song that features Stevie Wonder on keys and Esperanza Spalding on bass. Karriem Riggins and Robert Glasper are the credited producers, while fellow legends Chuck D and MC Lyte contribute ad-libs.

The track comes with an accompanying video, which profiles faces of black pain after showing the horrific footage of Alton Sterling‘s death at the hands of police officers. “Here we go again / Trayvon will never get to be an older man,” Common says at the start of the mournful two minutes.
