Hudson Mohawke has gotten his name on tunes by the titanic likes of Drake (“Connect”), Kanye (“Blood on the Leaves,” “I Am a God”), and ANOHNI (all of this year’s widely loved Hopelessness), so it feels like there’s almost nothing the producer can’t do. That probably explains why Josh Davis, a.k.a. DJ Shadow, was more than comfortable premiering Mohawke’s remix of his own now-20-year-old classic “Midnight in a Perfect World” last week while DJing at Electric Brixton in London.
This morning, Mohawke shared a video of the performance, which you can watch below. “Midnight” originally hails from Shadow’s pretty much flawless 1996 magnum opus Endtroducing…, which was one of SPIN‘s top ten albums of the last 30 years.
