Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Major Lazer, and More Will Play at New York City’s Global Citizen Festival

Ellie Goulding, Metallica, and Chris Martin will swing through as well

The Global Citizen Festival, which kicks off a stacked fall for New York music festivals, is bringing the most star-studded lineup of artists in its five-year history. Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Major Lazer, Metallica, and Selena Gomez are the event’s big headliners. Lamar headlined the second night of the inaugural Panorama Festival last weekend.

The festival’s website also lists Ellie Goulding, Usher, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Yusuf / Cat Stevens, Yandel, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin — the event’s curator — as special guest stars.

The Global Citizen Festival will be aired live on MSNBC and streamed on the network’s website and YouTube. Fans who wish to attend can earn free tickets by “completing actions to help promote and ensure that equitable and quality education is available to all, particularly refugee children and access for girls & women,” according to a press release. The festivities take place on September 24.
