Listen to Twin River’s Deceptively Dark New Song ‘Knife’

The title of Vancouver pop-rock band Twin River‘s new single “Knife” can be a bit misleading — the melody is as mellow and beachy as your lingering memories of Memorial Day Weekend. The band’s new track, from their upcoming album Passing Shade, sounds sweet and sunny until you take a second listen to the somewhat dark lyrics, as lead singer Courtney Ewan croons over strong guitar riffs, “Well there’s a shadow on my face and it’s shaped like a knife / You got me talking to myself when I sleep at night.”

Listen to “Knife” here, and look out for sophomore album Passing Shade on Light Organ, out June 17.
