Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis was hospitalized yesterday for, according to Pitchfork, “extreme stomach pain.” The band was forced to cancel their appearance at the KROQ Weenie Roast in Los Angeles, but they took the stage anyway to let the crowd know how sorry they were that they couldn’t play. “We will be playing for you very soon, and we will play for you like the feral animals full of love that we are,” said Flea.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ new album, The Getaway, will be released on June 17.
