Embattled pop star Kesha‘s appearance at the Billboard Music Awards last night was not a sure thing until very recently, her performance originally having been blocked by producer Dr. Luke over fears of her using the platform to further decry her personal and professional relationship with her alleged abuser. With Luke given assurances that Kesha simply planned to cover Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe” and would not make any further statement, he relented in his protest, and indeed, Ms. Sebert took the stage last night to perform the Another Side of Bob Dylan classic.

Kesha’s performance, assisted by Ben Folds on piano and yMusic’s Rob Moose on violin, was a dramatic and heartfelt one, and the singer earned a standing ovation from the Las Vegas crowd. Watch a clip of the rendition here, courtesy of Billboard.
