Annabel Jones’ Frisky ‘IOU’ Video Goes Totally Cat Crazy

Annabel Jones by Pip for Atlantic Records US

Annabel Jones is one of music’s brightest new commodities, a singer-songwriter who — along with fellows Beats 1 darlings Kiiara and Moxie Raia — seems to have carved out her own corner of moody, electronically minded pop. The daughter of the Monkees’ Davy Jones, the 27-year-old recently signed to Atlantic Records and in February, releasing the punchbowl-spiking single “IOU.”

A swirly fever-dream of a song, “IOU” now has a proper video to go with it, a feline-filled three minutes that features Jones clawing at balls of yarn as kittens pounce and rip apart feathers beside her. That doesn’t even begin to describe the bit of the video in which shirtless, ripped men wearing gigantic cat heads stand behind the singer. All in all, it’s a pretty engaging piece of art that signals big things to come for Jones, whose Libelle EP with Atlantic arrives on May 6.
