Vinyl, HBO’s new series about the music industry in the gritty 1970s, is going to explore the glittery disco world on this Sunday’s upcoming episode, and who better to turn to than disco’s second coming Alex Newell for a spectacular scene-setting track? “Kill the Lights,” a tune that DJ Cassidy recorded a year ago with the former Glee star and the legendary Nile Rodgers, will debut in the new episode, but you can hear it dazzle below in this official video. “The dance music that came out of New York City during that time exuded a spirit, emotion, and energy like no other,” Cassidy told Entertainment Weekly, which premiered the track.
