Sau Poler Balances Desert Drift With Poetic Propulsion on ‘Esperits’

Sau Poler belongs to a cohort of like-minded, sunset-tipped beatsmiths including countrymen John Talabot and Pional, who have recruited the Spanish producer for their tours local and abroad. On April 29 he’ll release a new EP, Memorabilia (via Amsterdam stronghold Atomnation), which he calls “a link between past and present” strung together by the dulcet propulsions of his Fender Rhodes and Arp Odyssey. One of its five tracks, “Esperits,” floats as if on a warm breeze from one patio to another on a woman’s wispy, strung-out croon, matching the machines’ own bell-like tones flitting throughout. Listen to “Esperits” below, pre-order Memorabilia over at Bandcamp, and if you’re London-based, check out Sau Poler at the Horse and Groom on March 27.
