Sonically shape-shifting pop star Melanie Martinez released one of 2015’s 25 Best Pop Albums, Cry Baby, from which she’s just premiered the title track’s chilling music video. The visual — another in a line of consistently brilliant works conceived of and often directed by Martinez herself — begins with a young woman beginning to give birth as a doctor, decked in a rabbit mask, bashes her stomach like a piñata with a stick. Candy falls out, the titular Cry Baby is born, and the music kicks in. Watch below.
