Listen to Cullen Omori’s New Single ‘Synthetic Romance’

Former Smith Westerns frontman Cullen Omori has shared “Synthetic Romance,” the third peek at his upcoming solo debut New MiseryThe track is premiering today at i-D, along with an interview where Omori describes sleeping in a storage container while recording with members of Cults and MGMT at Brooklyn’s Treefort Studios.

“As much as I loved what we did in Smith Westerns, I just felt a few of our influences were too visible,” Omori told i-D. “I wanted to explore my own influences without making this pastiche not having had the time to really absorb something. I wanted something smoother, a little more clever.”
