Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Jimmy Fallon Cover David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars?’ for ‘The Tonight Show’

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon host and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin threw their hat into the crowded ring of covers of David Bowie’s “Life on Mars?” last night, and it’s not bad. Martin plays piano while Fallon sings, and his impression of the Thin White Duke isn’t too shabby. During the middle of the song, Roots guitarist Captain Kirk Douglas strolls right in to perform a brief guitar solo, and walks away as abruptly as he appears. It’s a nice little bit, but far from Fallon’s best musical moment — that would have to be when he performed the Band’s “The Weight” with the Muppets to close out his run on Late Night.
