Musicians: They’re just like us — binge-watching Netflix series and then not being able to stop thinking about them. Or at least, Dan Auerbach and his alter-outfit the Arcs are: After watching the streaming service’s smash serial documentary Making a Murderer, they wrote a song over the course of “two sleepless nights,” as they write on the SoundCloud page for “Lake Superior.” “It’s like Billy Childish says, ‘We live in troubled times,'” they write. “Last week, we got a sneak peek at what goes on behind the curtains of our criminal justice system. A few sleepless nights later we gathered in the studio and wrote this song. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered in 2 days.” Listen here and download when it becomes available in a few days; all proceeds go to the Innocence Project.
