Ethiopian Children Learning English Cover ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ for Dave Grohl’s Birthday
It's goofy and touching and charming all at the same time
Dave Grohl’s birthday is tomorrow, and to celebrate, a group of Ethiopian students learning English have put together a tribute in his honor. Singing Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” — guitar parts included — the kids hop around with huge grins as they tackle the classic song. According to the video’s description, “Peace Corps Volunteer Matt Westerberg uses this classic ’90s anthem to help create an active and encouraging environment for kids to practice their English, a skill necessary for attaining a college education.”
Happy birthday, Dave Grohl.
