Country Singer Craig Strickland Found Dead at Age 29

He'd been duck hunting during an ice storm last week

Country singer Craig Strickland has been found dead according to a spokesperson for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Last week, Strickland went missing during a duck-hunting trip that he and his friend Chase Morland had embarked upon, one that fell during the winter ice storm Goliath. “In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm,” Morland wrote on Twitter before their trip.

Today, authorities confirm that Strickland’s body was found alongside Morland’s “in the area of Kaw Lake known as… Bear Creek Cove.”

Strickland was a singer in the country group Backroad Anthem. He was 29 at the time of his death.
