Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique’s ‘Love Is Free’ Video Is a Topsy-Turvy Trip

This year, there’s been no shortage of odd album rollouts, from Rihanna’s consistently stalled Anti to Tink’s oft-promised debut major label debut. Also odd is the timing of Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique’s new “Love Is Free” video, which comes nearly half a year after the single (the title track from her August EP) first premiered, though that doesn’t weigh down the sprightly visual’s wondrous highs.

Set at first in a pastel-accented bedroom tea party, the SSION-directed video soon shifts locations, following the acid-tongued rapper Maluca — wearing the world’s shiniest gold boots — as she dances around a room under construction (or is it undergoing demolition?). It gets weirder from there, with a subtitled scene, a bee, and some cupcake decorating. Watch it below.
