Nicki Minaj’s TV Show Will Guest Star Whoopi Goldberg and Is Called… ‘Nicki’

Back in September, SPIN reported that ABC Family is working on a new TV comedy about Nicki Minaj. Well today the iconic “Anaconda” musician shared a bevy of new information about the show, which will be titled simply Nicki. Ariana Neal, an up-and-coming 10-year-old actress who had a role in Fruitvale Station, will play Young Nicki, while Whoopi Goldberg will be a guest star playing the role of Minaj’s neighbor, Miss Martha. Selita Ebanks will play her mom, Wesley Jonathan will play her dad, and McCarrie McCausland will play her brother. Minaj, who will produce and narrate the show, wrote that she “literally hand picked the main characters” and “literally cried watching” Neal’s taped audition. Nicki will literally air sometime in 2016.
