Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl is in the business of paying tribute to his favorite musicians onstage, but since the band’s recent throne-happy tour has come to a close, the 46-year-old rock titan instead did something a bit more permanent to honor the recently deceased Motörhead legend Lemmy.

On Monday night, hours after Lemmy’s death, Grohl paid a visit to a tattoo parlor to have Motörhead’s Ace of Spades logo stitched in permanent ink on his lower arm. Photo evidence is below. What a gentleman.

Foo Fighters also paid short tribute to Lemmy on their Facebook, writing, “We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken. RIP Lemmy. Born To Lose, Lived To Win.”
