The Walkmen’s Walter Martin Releases ‘Jobs I Had Before I Got Rich & Famous’ on LinkedIn

Before joining the Walkmen, Walter Martin had a host of other jobs just like you and me. He was a lawn mower, a delivery driver (both for pizza and roses), and an information services representative for the Cloisters Museum. And on the latest single from his forthcoming solo album Arts & Leisure you can hear about each mundane task in great detail.

Appropriately titled “Jobs I had Before I Got Rich & Famous,” its a lilting singer-songwriter number full of Martin’s characteristic wit and reedy vocals, but what’s almost as endearing as the track itself is the LinkedIn page created to accompany it. On that site, each of Martin’s jobs are broken down résumé-style along with the lyrics from the verse that corresponds to it. Head there to read along as you listen to “Jobs I had Before I Got Rich & Famous” here.
