Kacey Musgraves put out a stellar record earlier this year — Pageant Material, her sophomore album, a light-up cowboy boots and rhinestone-studded shotglasses rodeo of a good time — and tonight, the Texas native brought that LP’s finest track “Dime Store Cowgirl” to life at the Country Music Awards. Complete with her full band and a screen behind her that showcased all the cross-country sites she mentions — “I made it all the way past Austin City Limits,” she sings with wistful remembrance — Musgraves ended the performance with a parade of unicorns and rainbows.
