Last January, Abel Tesfaye — a.k.a. the Weeknd — was arrested for allegedly punching a police officer “in the side of the head with a closed fist” at the Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas. According to the original report, Tesfaye had been involved in a fight at the hotel around 4:20 a.m., and allegedly struck the police officer who had arrived to break it up. The “Can’t Feel My Face” singer has now pleaded no contest in a Vegas court, according to TMZ, and will not serve jail time.

TMZ also reports that as a part of his plea, Tesfaye is required to pay $1,000 to an injured cop fund, undergo anger management and an alcohol evaluation, and complete 50 hours of community service. If Tesfaye meets the requirements and avoids future legal trouble, the case will be dismissed.
