Battles’ latest collection of jukebox-hopping experimental music, La Di Da Di, pushed forward their tendencies toward playful musical ephemera and their latest video from that collection, “Dot Net,” largely follows in that tradition. The clip features quick cuts between digitalist landscapes and everyday folks interacting with futurist technology — it’s absurdist and otherworldly, but it really doesn’t feel all that far off from the present, where people tote around touch-screen computers in their pockets.
