Just a couple days after coyly announcing her imminent return to the music world with the lyrics “hello, it’s me,” in a television commercial, Adele has shared that full first song from her highly awaited third album, 25. The track, “Hello,” is a magnificent, soulful piece of songwriting, and the U.K. singer certainly hasn’t lost anything since her last release, the 2012 theme to Skyfall. If anything, she’s only gotten better. If 21 was the painful, emotional quick response to a devastating breakup, 25 sounds like a much more jaded, wider, and wiser view on life.
