Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris Fight on Twitter, As Artists Do These Days

Twitter, the micro-blogging and petty fight-starting service, is now home to yet another beef between two A-list musicians. This time the combatants were producer Calvin Harris and One Direction’s dearly departed Zayn Malik. It started innocently enough, when @zaynmalik retweeted a tweet from an account called @FemaleTexts that compared Taylor Swift’s crusade for streaming royalty rights to Miley Cyrus’ seemingly modest lifestyle and campaign to help homeless youths. “G statement,” Malik added in a follow up tweet.

Harris, who is currently dating Swift, was displeased. “You’ve made your money? Cool…f—k the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right?” he tweeted in response to @FemaleTexts, adding Zayn too. “Yeah f—k em.”

Malik, 22, later shot back at Harris, saying he had “made an absolute fool of yourself mate” and suggested that the 31-year-old producer better “calm [his] knickers before them dentures fall out.”

“Oh and I write my own shit too dickhead,” Malik tweeted.

Harris, for his part, seemed amused, and wrote that he wasn’t personally attacking Malik, just the quote. The last word in the Twitter fight as of posting was either an attempt to make nice or top-tier shade from Harris: “Best of luck, genuinely. You’ve got a great voice.”
